OAKBROOK TERRACE – State Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton signed on in support of legislation to clarify language in the SAFE-T Act and improve how officials can enforce the law.
“Improving public safety will rely on many factors, and in order to be effective, the individuals responsible for implementation must feel comfortable with any changes,” said Glowiak Hilton (D-Western Springs). “Senate Bill 4228 will help law enforcement officials to continue to perform their duties and protect our communities.”
The intent of the law aims to end cash bail to improve racial equity in the criminal justice system. Senate Bill 4228 updates many provisions in the SAFE-T Act by adding clarifying language to address concerns raised by local law enforcement officials.
OAKBROOK TERRACE – Illinois taxpayers can expect to see up to $700 in tax rebates in the coming weeks thanks to the State Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton-supported Illinois Family Relief Plan.
“Hardworking families and individuals in Illinois have been financially affected by the pandemic, increasing gas prices and rising costs of groceries,” said Glowiak Hilton (D-Western Springs) said. “As a state senator, it was a priority of mine to provide direct relief to taxpayers who have endured so much over recent years.”
Supported by Glowiak Hilton, the Illinois Senate championed Senate Bill 157, which provides millions of Illinois taxpayers with financial relief- including direct tax rebates.
OAKBROOK TERRACE – To offer residents a safe option to discard documents with personal information, State Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton is hosting an event with free shredding services in Lombard.
“Securely destroying sensitive documents is a strong way to protect yourself and your loved ones from identity fraud,” said Sen. Glowiak Hilton (D-Western Springs). “Shredding services are popular events in our community, and I encourage everyone to gather documents and attend.”
Free shredding services will be available from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Lombard Municipal Complex, on the corner of Hammerschmidt and Central Avenues. Attendees are asked to enter the complex on Wilson Avenue.

OAKBROOK TERRACE – To increase access to healthy, sustainable food options for families in DuPage County, State Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton announced Prairie Food Co-Op in downtown Lombard as a recipient of a Rebuild Downtowns and Main Streets grant through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
“Fresh and affordable food is critical for every family, no matter where they call home,” said Sen. Glowiak Hilton (D-Western Springs), chair of the Senate Commerce Committee. “I’m counting down the days until I can welcome the first community-owned grocery to DuPage County—Prairie Food Co-Op in downtown Lombard. This investment, funded in part by Rebuild Illinois, will help ensure families have access to healthy, sustainable food options.”
